Munich : After breakfast we start our sightseeing with a local guide and our first stop will in Oberammergau made famous by the Passion Play which takes place every 10 years. The fist performance took place in 1634 and the next play will take place in 2010. We will visit this quaint village, visit the theater and the many shops, and their specialty is wood carving. In the afternoon drive to Munich Germany's "secret capital" which includes the Olympic Stadium, 1,000-foot-high Television Tower, MARIENPLATZ with the Old and New Town Hall, and the Gothic Frauenkirche. Dinner in a local restaurant and overnight in Munich. (B, D)

Rothenburg : After breakfast drive to Nuremberg a treasure trove of early German history and medieval architecture. Tour the Old Town, carefully rebuilt after wartime destruction, and see the charming blend of stone and timbered dwellings and the massive ramparts with its 46 towers than to Rothenburg-ob-der Tauber, the most well-preserved town on the Romantic Road. Plunge back into the 16th Century as you walk through narrow cobbled streets lined with high-gabled houses to the market square dominated by its magnificent Renaissance town hall. There will be time to see the Christmas season in both places. Return to Munich for overnight. Dinner will be on your own. Munich (B)
