Saturday LIMA Meet and Greet upon arrival to Lima's International Airport, and Transfer to your hotel, the Doubletree Pardo. In the afternoon, City Tour of Lima, the "City of Kings", exploring both colonial and modern Lima followed by visit to renowned Larco Herrera Museum to marvel at its invaluable collection including over 10,000 pieces of pottery from the Mochica, Chimu and other pre-Incan civilizations. Of special interest, although not for everyone, is the Museum's erotic pottery collection, the only one of it's kind in the world! Colonial sites include the lovely Plaza de Armas with its impressive Cathedral, beautiful Palace, and exquisite Torre Tagle Palace, modern day seat of the Ministry of Foreing Affairs. We explore modern Lima with a drive along the exclusive residential areas of Miraflores and San Isidro.

Puno
Sunday LIMA - JULIACA - PUNO Breakfast at your hotel. Transfer to the Airport for your flight to Juliaca. Meet and Greet upon arrival to the Airport, and Transfer to your hotel, the Posada Del Inca Puno. On route, enjoy visit to ancient Sillustani Burial Towers. These burial towers, Chulpas, are impressive tombs from the pre-Inka period built from a mixture of stone and adobe, and served as burial places for chiefs and important people. B
Day 3
Lake Titikaka
Monday PUNO - LAKE TITIKAKA Breakfast at your hotel. Full day excursion to explore the indescribable beauty of Lake Titikaka, at 12,507 feet above sea level, the highest navigable lake in the world. Learn the origin of ancient pre-Hispanic civilizations, and hear the legend of Manco Capac and Mama Ocllo who emerged from its waters to found Cuzco, the capital of the Inka Empire. Visit the remarkable floating islands of the Uros Indians, the "Lords of the Lake", known for their beautiful, intricate handiwork, weaving, spinning and embroidery. These artificial islands, made of reeds that grow naturally on the banks of Lake Titikaka, float on the lake's surface and are home to this native culture. Continue to Taquile, where a community of nearly 400 families still lives observing traditions of the XIV century, respecting the principles of the Inka way of lfe. UNESCO proclaimed Taquile Island and its textile art as a new Oraln and Intangible Heritage of Humanity. B, L

Cuzco
Tuesday PUNO - CUZCO Breakfast at your hotel. Today, enjoy incredible journey by motor coach through the Peruvian Andes Mountains, truly one of South America's most extraordinary overland trips passing through striking highland scenery and picturesque Andean villages. Machu Picchu
Wednesday CUZCO - MACHU PICCHU Breakfast at your hotel. Early wake up for magnificent train ride through the Sacred Valley of Urubamba to the "Lost City of the Inkas", Machu Picchu. Perched 8,200 feet above the valley, it was hidden by mountains and semi-tropical jungles for 400 years until discovered by Hiram Bingham of Yale University in 1911. Archaeologists believe that the Inka "Virgins of the Sun" took refuge from the Spanish Conquistadors here. Guided tour of the ruins upon arrival, followed by lunch in Machu Picchu. Mid-afternoon, return to Cuzco. B, L

Cuzco
Thursday CUZCO - SACRED VALLEY Breakfast at your hotel. Morning departure for scenic drive through beautiful, fertile countryside on route to the colonial village, Pisac. Enjoy bargaining for exquisite jewelry, colorful textiles and intricate handicraft in its bustling marketplace. Following Lunch, continue to the village of Ollantaytambo for visit of its impressive Inka fortress. Afternoon, return to Cuzco. B, L

Friday CUZCO Breakfast at your hotel. Afternoon, City Tour of Cuzco, to explore its ancient Inka and Spanish colonial architecture. Cuzco, the oldest continuously inhabited city in the Western Hemisphere is a photographer's paradise with its impressive Cathedral, Santo Domingo Church, Plaza de Armas, narrow cobblestone streets and wrought iron balconies. Then, continue for visit to nearby Inka ruins of Kenko, Puca-pucara, Tambomachay, and Sacsayhuaman fortress. B

Return Home
